It's Too Expensive

Excuse #4
It's Too Expensive!

I will admit CrossFit training is much more expensive than a commercial gym membership. Anyone can buy a commercial gym membership for $10-50/mo. But how many people will actually use it or more importantly get the results they’re looking for from it? I was a Fitness Director for a large commercial gym for 7 years. We would sign up hundreds of members each month. By the end of the month most would never come back. Most people do not know what they are doing or how to get results.

At CrossFit Thoroughbreds you are paying more but you are paying for qualified and experienced coaches to program design for you, modify and adjust each workout to fit your specific needs and goals, motivate you through each workout and assist you with proper nutrition to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. This is much more than a general membership. This is access to an elite club of highly educated and experienced coaches ready each day to help you reach your goals.

Come in to receive 1 FREE Day of training and 50% OFF your first month of CrossFit training.

I have too many injuries to do CrossFit

Have you used this Excuse?

2) I have too many injuries to do CrossFit

I understand very well that with injuries it does make it more challenging to exercise. I too at age 42 have had many injuries. None of which were from CrossFit training. I have had back surgery from two herniated discs (L-4 & L-5), I have torn the meniscus in both knees and torn my right hip flexor. If anyone understands pain and injuries its me. Even with these injuries I am still able to do CrossFit training. I may not do the RX version at times or compete with the rest of my members but I can still train by modifying the movements to fit my needs.

I have an extensive background in post injury fitness and rehabilitation as I worked for a chiropractor for 7 years and 27 total years as personal trainer and coach. This experience and knowledge allows me to customize the CrossFit workouts to each member in my gym based on their specific injuries and needs.

At CrossFit Thoroughbreds we are lucky enough to also have Dr. Brian Bochette as one of our CrossFit Coaches.

Dr. Brian Bochette is a Florida licensed Physical Therapist and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance from Florida Gulf Coast University, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University, and a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of South Florida.

He enjoys sharing his passion for human movement with his patients and students, serving as adjunct faculty in the areas of anatomy, palpations, and biomechanics at Florida Gulf Coast University. Brian began CrossFit in 2010 and immediately fell in love with the variety and functionality of the programming. Brian has become an incredible asset to CrossFit Thoroughbreds and its members.

We also have 6 more very experienced and qualified CrossFit Coaches on staff to serve our members.

Top 12 Biggest Excuses for not joining CrossFit!

Top 12 Biggest Excuses for not joining CrossFit!

Ever had a friend or family member approach you to try CrossFit?

If you have you probably came up with a few of these excuses as fast as you could get them out of your mouth.

1) I’m too old for that type of training
2) I have too many injuries to do CrossFit
3) I don’t have the time
4) It’s too expensive
5) It’s too hard
6) I need to get in shape before I can start CrossFit
7) CrossFit is only for athletes
8) I don’t want to compete
9) I’m too overweight to do CrossFit
10) I heard a lot of people get injured doing CrossFit
11) I’m afraid of getting bulky or huge
12) CrossFit is too intimidating

I think for most people the excuses aren’t necessarily valid but that people have been misinformed about what CrossFit training really is.

I’d like to clarify the difference between what the public perceives CrossFit to be and what my CrossFit Thoroughbreds affiliate actually is. I will take you through the Top 12 excuses to shatter all the myths and give you the reality of what you’re missing by not joining CrossFit.

I will post 1 new excuse each day for the next 12 days. Check back each day and post your comments, "like it" and don't forget to share with your friends.

1) I’m too old for that type of training

The reality is no one is “too old” to exercise. I have clients from 10 years old to 74 years old. The exercises and intensity of the exercises change depending on age and fitness level. At CrossFit Thoroughbreds we scale and modify each and every workout to fit the needs of each individual client. This is not a “one size fits all” type of program.

Click on the 50% OFF photo and print it out. Bring it in to receive 1 FREE Day of training and 50% OFF your first month of CrossFit training.
